Your task in this assignment is to identify and discuss an issue (the issue may be a process, policy, strategy or practice) relevant to assessment in your context.
You will need to:
Identify the issue and briefly describe three important features/characteristics of the issue. In doing so you are to provide evidence to the marker that you have a sound understanding of the issue. Explain why a study of this issue is important for educators in your context. You are required to identify the relevant stakeholders (students, teachers, parents, employers...) and briefly explain, using relevant examples, the importance of the issue to each group. (600 words)
Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the issue with direct reference to the principles of quality assessment (validity, reliability, flexibility, fairness and authenticity). In doing so you should ensure that you briefly define each of the principles of quality assessment, include appropriate examples that demonstrate the relationship between the particular principle and the issue being discussed and use the literature to fully justify the relationship.
-Create a task sheet and task-specific rubric suitable for your context. It must be detailed enough for a supply teacher/instructor to be able to take over and fairly assess, but also written in language appropriate for the students to engage with and use.-
-Justify the validity, reliability and authenticity of your task using specific examples from your task sheet and rubric.
-Within the context, you have a student with a hearing impairment, which affects their ability to complete the assessment as it has been originally set. Explain and justify (with reference to authoritative sources as well as examples from your task and rubric) how you would modify their assessment to make it more fair and flexible for them. Please note: it is up to you to determine the severity of the hearing impairment and what implications this may have. If you have taken this need into consideration when planning the task, explain what you have done and why.
