The purpose of this report is to analyze the quality tools available for the different types of problem-solving scenarios in organizations which is an important aspect in the current situation. This report will analyze the two best tools out of the available tools by analyzing their effectiveness and what are the benefits of the tools. It will also analyze the pros and cons of the problem-solving tool with identifying the use of the tool is compared with the advanced tool. At the last, this report will analyze the key points and lessons learned from the study by reviewing the key aspects.
In the organizations, various types of issues occurred that has been identified and solved with the problem-solving quality where the major seven tools are such as Check sheet, Controls chart, Flowchart, Scatter diagram, Fishbone diagram, Pareto analysis, and Histogram that has been used to analyze the effective quality management but out of them the most common two tools are Histogram and Check sheet that has been used most (Asq.org, 2022).
The check sheet is a quality management tool that has been organized the data in a proper manner where the Check sheet is a structured, prepared form for collecting and analyzing the data. It allows the user to record and maintain the data in a systematic order where it collects quantitative or qualitative data collects on the tally sheet (Madu, 2012). The collected data is organized into the generic form adapted for a variety of purposes. This tool is selected because it assists when the data is observed and repeated by the same person and at the same location. It collects the data in real-time on the location where it is generated with identifying the frequent problems by adopting the effective and economical approach.
Flowcharts are the effective quality management tool that provides solutions for the problems which identified the cost of quality in a diagrammatic picture manner that indicates the flow in a sequential manner (Lotich, 2021). Flowcharts explain the inputs by understanding them easily in form of diagrams which has been considered as a problem-solving tool. The presentation of the pictures in an organized manner separately divides the steps into the blocks. This tool is selected because of arranges the data into organized steps with aids in analyzing the key points of the potential problems by documenting them.
The primary benefit of using a Check sheet is that it helps in collecting and analyzing a wide range of data and the most important benefit is that it is very effective for a variety of purposes. Check sheet tool helps in analyzing the data for the corrective and preventive actions by providing complete assistance in the development of histograms, Bar graphs, and charts (Techqualitypedia, 2020). It helps to control and manage the data more effectively than has been recorded consistently. Check sheet has various types such as process probability, location sheet, type sheet, cause sheet.
A flowchart is an important and effective tool of quality management where the major benefit of this tool is that it breaks down the long process into the separate and smaller parts where understanding the individual segment is very easy that has been used to perform the lower-level activities for the change and improvement of the process (Presentationeze, 2022). It improves the execution process where the additional benefits of Flowchart are that it provides visual presentation, communication with aiding in a problem-solving situation.
The Affinity diagram is an advanced tool that has been used to arrange a large number of ideas into a general process with generating and solving complex issues. It provides the advanced consolidate feature which has been helping in solving the complex problems which support cannot provide by the basic tools of quality management (White, 2018). Six sigma is an advanced tool that has been used to identify and solve the problems in the execution process where it improves the current business process by eliminating and reducing the different types of risk factors by the implementation of quantitative and qualitative techniques.
The study on analyzing the quality management tools increases the learning to study how Flowchart and Check sheets are used in effective quality management and what are the major advantage and disadvantages of using these tools can improve problem-solving skills.
Based on the above study it is concluded that in the different types of problem-solving scenarios the effective formulation of quality management tools helps in effective management where the Flowcharts and Check sheets are the tools used to analyze and identify the common problems which have been occurring repeatedly because of identification of any problem. The Six Sigma and Affinity diagram provide advanced assistance in quality management with improving problem-solving skills.
