ACC60008 Accounting Systems and Reporting

Task:

The length of the report should not exceed 3000 words—excluding calculations, tables, charts and the appendices. The total report  is assessed, including appendices. Note that each team member must submit the assignment individually.

Structure

Structure your assignment report as follows, using the following headings::

1. Title page

On the title page, include:

the name of the organisation that has been selected

the name and Student ID number of each member in your group.

2. Contents page

Include a table of contents showing headings and corresponding page numbers.

3. Executive summary

The executive summary is a very brief summary of the objective of this assignment. You must include the main findings and the main reasons behind your recommendation of whether or not the selected organisation is financially stable and performing well as an economic unit meeting shareholder expectations.

4. Organisation’s business profile

Here, your team should examine the history, strategy, current size, current market(s), as well as current products or services.

5. Financial ratio analysis

Use the following subheadings in this order:

Profitability.

Efficiency.

Liquidity.

Solvency.

Share market performance.

Each team should perform the following tasks:

Examine the selected organisation’s profile in terms of its history, strategy, current size, current market(s) and current products or services. Assess the organisation’s profitability, efficiency, liquidity, solvency and share market performance over the selected time period.

Make an explicit recommendation as to whether or not the selected organisation is financially stable and performing in-line with market expectations.

Recommendation

Make a recommendation as to whether or not the selected organisation is financially stable and performing in-line with market expectations. Justify your recommendation based on your overall assessment, taking into consideration future expectations. Indicate whether you recommend buying, selling or holding shares in the selected organisation.
