Task description

Your task for this piece of assessment is to critically discuss a professional practice issue and leadership challenge in nursing for the graduate registered nurse and argue for realistic and achievable actions to ensure safe person- centered care.

You have been selected for a skype job interview for a graduate nurse position in a regional hospital. As part of your preparation for the interview, you have been emailed an animated video where 3 fictitious graduate nurses describe professional practice issues or leadership challenges that they are experiencing.

The challenges/issues described in the video are: 1. Working within your Scope of Practice, 2. Delegating care effectively and safely, and 3. Advocating for a balanced Skill Mix. You are informed to choose one of the challenges/issues and prepare for questions.

Task.

The task for this piece of assessment is in 2 parts. There is a written part and a recorded video part, both to be submitted via Turnitin.

a) In preparing for the interview, choose one of the challenges/issues identified in the video, and using contemporary literature, critically discuss the reasons why the chosen professional practice issue or leadership challenge can be a difficulty for all GRN’s, and explain the short- and long-term implications of the difficulties for the GRN to achieve safe person-centred care

b) As if responding to an interview question, in a recorded 2-3 minute video describe and justify 3 realistic and achievable actions which a GRN could implement to address the selected issue/challenge to ensure safe person- centered care. (You do not need to refer to evidence in this presentation
