Moana Newzealand is considered the largest Mori old seafood company. The company Stewards the commercial fisheries assets which Maori regained as part of the Treaty of Waitangi fisheries settlement with the crown and the Government of New Zealand (terramoana.co.nz, 2022). The company is often referred to as a leading New Zealand based sustainability-based organisation which is specialising in Primary Industries that are focused on fisheries and marine environments(wwf.org.nz, 2022). The company utilizes a cycle that uses Western and Indigenous knowledge systems as well as world views to create a huge client to understand and recognize a systematic overview of the culture and its importance.

This report will focus on understanding and analyzing the sustainable practices that are followed by Moana. The report focuses on two key sections which are focused on analyzing the organization's sustainable practices using sustainability models along with Maori values. With the utilization of both these strategies if proper recommendations or conclusions will be brought upon around the organization and what else can be done further in the coming future.

Sustainability models.

Triple bottom line.

The triple bottom line is considered as one of the major models that are utilized by businesses to assess the profits that the company is making by utilizing their social environmental and financial factors. The model is divided into understanding three specific parts of your organization which are the organisation's social, environmental and financial aspects (Arowoshegbe, Emmanuel & Gina,2016). By utilizing an understanding of these prospects, better recognition of the performance in a broader perspective can be made to create greater business value for a company. It is a transformation framework for organizations to help the company move toward a regenerative and more sustainable future.

Three nested sustainability models.

The three nested dependency model or sustainability model holds the concept of focusing on reminding an organisation that there is only 1 planet that needs to be preserved and all companies hold the responsibility of doing so through a combination of focusing on maintaining the sustainability of the economy, society and environment.

The difference between both these models is that the triple bottom line model focuses on the concept of understanding the social environmental and financial performance of the organization on the other hand the three nested sustainability model focuses on understanding the level of sustainability the organization is creating towards the economy as well as the society and the environment overall (Rocha, Antunes & Partidário,2019). The following model is also in words in nature while the triple bottom line model is outward.

The triple bottom line model focuses on preparing a Framework for an organization to implement as well as to measure the performance of their organization utilizing the sustainable development lines of social along with environmental and economical factors (Thorisdottir & Johannsdottir,2019). The basic form of analysis of the following model can be done by analyzing the economy through the number of profits or tax paid or by utilizing the social factors like the contribution to the community for the Welfare to career retention as well as environmental safety which can be seen through the activities performed by the company.

In terms of the economy, it can be seen that the organization has made a net profit after tax of 27 million dollars in the year 2021 and has increased its financial results by up to 33% since the last financial result which shows a prominent growth within the company(scoop.co.nz, 2021). On the other hand in terms of recognizing the social context of the company it can be seen that the company leaves a proper system of a Western and Indigenous system that not only supports one specific community but is a representation of a primary minority community of New Zealand which makes it socially extremely prominent in creating change in the lives of a minority that needs this particular change (Abdelkafi and Täuscher 2016). In terms of the help and the prospect of change that is coming from the organization through its environmental practices, it can be seen that the organization has performed various levels of innovation in the field of environmental sustainability. The company utilizes a unique seafood sector social footprint scoring Framework that focuses on enabling fishing vessel operators to understand the requirement of leading International standards of the social conditions of broad vessels and perform and create the entire process of phishing in a limited amount.(public.wmo.int, 2022)

When utilizing the following idea it is integral to understand how the three pillar model of sustainability will be used in the company. Following utilizes and focuses on analyzing the level of sustainability within the organization by connecting the three factors of the economy as well as society and environment to one another as everyone directly impacts the other. In the case of the following organization, it can be said that there is a sense of dependency between all the three specific parts without the environment society and the economy cannot exist (Rauter, Jonker & Baumgartner,2017). The organization's environment which is through the fishing business is the core idea that connects it to the society as it is focused on being connected and centralized to a specific part of New Zealand's society which is with the Maori community. This one-term directs the company towards a point where it can gain profits in the right way. Kaitiakitanga

Kaitiakitanga which is a Maori term is used as creating the concept of guardianship for the sky, the sea, and the land. The idea is also focused on the concept of protection and preservation while respecting and caring for the ecosystem (Palavi, Railton & Waitai,2018). When utilizing this specific spirit on this specific worldview coming from the Maori community, the following organization of Moana focuses on the core ideas and values of Kaitiakitanga itself. Created as a representative of the community the concept is fully created as the primary Vision and Mission of the organization. The entire fishing business of the company is focused vastly on the idea of creating a controlled environment of fishing which is not only helpful for the environment but also focuses on maintaining a prosperous ecosystem (Walker et al.,2019). The other major prospect of the organisation comes with their controlled fishing method that is not only focused on preserving but also focuses on the idea of saving rare marine life that is scarce and needs to be defended in the right way(Moana.co.nz, 2022).

Fishing which was considered as the core method of food and was one of the core ideas of fulfilment for the M?ori community has always remained sacred. This specific idea is channelled and taken into consideration within the organization and its many projects that are focused on the extraction of fish but in a more environmentally friendly manner and focusing on the ecosystem balance of The Reserve that is utilized by the company. This can also be seen by the organization's view towards the partnership that they have recently worked on with the World Wildlife Fund where both organizations are working with the company with the focus on incorporating and achieving best practices that are integral for environmentally responsible seafood as well as advocating for a more sustainable fishing industry not just through the company but in terms of putting forth a better example of doing the same (Jackson, Mita & Hakopa,2017). Guardianship for the sky, the sea, and the land is focused on the idea of bringing sustainability which the organisation does by focusing on looking for more sustainable methods of fishing with  various different methods that are easy to perform and good for the planet

Whanaungatanga

The Whanaungatanga is all about the idea of relationship along with kinship and a sense of belongingness and a family connection. The idea is created by shared experiences as well as working together and providing an opportunity and a sense of belongingness to the people Ross, L. (2020). Whanaungatanga principle is religiously followed by the company as it comes across as primarily representative of a core minority of the country which is the Maori people. This is considered to be one of the core reasons why the organization has an extremely inviting and inclusive environment that focuses on providing opportunities and growth to a community(Carlson et al.,2016). Over the years of its functioning, it has not only supported many coming from the different communities of Newzealand to become part of their initiative but has become a major source of economy for the Maori community living in the following region. The company has constantly evolved with the idea of developing itself into becoming something that not only supports and promotes community connection but has constantly focused on maintaining the same over the years with many events and initiations (Herbert, Stephens & Forster,2018).

The organization takes regular initiatives to help and support other minority communities by coming forward and creating different types of initiative programs within its community that is not only limited to the Welfare of the Maori community but for the community of their town and every person who is in the need of the same from time to time. Whanaungataga is followed by the organisation through its social sustainability method that connects the community to one another and welfare. Moana further empowers the community as a way to not just preserve a business that was on its verge of losing it all but also is a considerably integral opportunity for the organisation community that can be seen through numerous annual community ventures that supports the Maori community(Auckland council.govt.NZ, 2022).

Conclusion

The following conclusion of the management of sustainability of the following organization can come up with a better understanding that Organisation in question is created with the mind that of being a Pinnacle of sustainable management within its industry. To state that the company is sustainable in nature will be an understatement. In reality, the prospect of the organization moves way ahead to just being sustainable for the environment but is sustainable economically early as well as socially for all.
