What does an innovative one of a kind Childcare centre need to raise the bar of early childhood Education.

After extensive research we feel that to build a childcare centre that raises the bar of early childhood and education the following need to be implemented:

1. A huge developmental playground where all ages can explore and develop at their own pace

Why should children of all ages have access to a huge playground in a centre

  1. there are children that are more physically developed a 2 year old may be able to climb better than a 4 year old. By restricting children into and age appropriate space, we could be restricting their physical development.

2. Art rooms in every classroom

a. why should children have access to art rooms all day every day 

b. what does research say about children having the opportunity to revisit their work over and over again (for days if they have to) until they feel it is complete. 

c. How does this support brainwave development/ How is creativity linked to problem solving? 

d. If children are creative in their early years does this support problem solving skills later in life?

3. Wellbeing of teachers

 The wellbeing of teachers should be just as important as the wellbeing of the children and the families.

a. Why is the wellbeing of the teachers important?

b. How can we support the wellbeing of the teachers?

c. Does ongoing professional development and upskilling support the wellbeing of the teachers?

d. Does building a Balinese retreat (away from staff room, planning and children) that has day beds and massage chairs where the teachers can disconnect completely during break, away from childcare talk where they can switch off completely will this support their wellbeing?

4. Building a library in the centre so as to develop and instil the love of reading

How does access to books daily and the borrowing of books support the development of the child

a. Is early introduction to books and reading beneficial to children?

b. What does research say about children who borrow books from a preschool age?

c. Parents reading to children every night, how does this support literature development?

d. Does early exposure to books support literature development in the early years?

5. Building and interactive kitchen for children to share the cooking experience and dine in the kitchen to practice self help skills

b. Is there evidence that children who are involved in the cooking process are more inclined to try new foods?

6. Having consulting rooms at the centre where psychologist, Occupational therapist and speech therapist support the teachers and the children in their development

7. Have Higher ratios of Teacher to student

why having a high number of teachers to student ratio supports childrens development and teachers wellbeing
