Written reflective piece addressing contemporary practice issues relating  to learning activities

This assessment is divided into 3 parts.

1. Critique contemporary nursing leadership theories, core competencies and personal capabilities and their importance to individuals, teams and the nursing profession.
2. Develop and apply communication skills that directly relate to health information systems.
3. Apply awareness of the transition from student to registered health care practitioner through critical self-reflection

You will be required to reflect upon your own experiences to date and to search for evidence from the literature to address questions regarding contemporary professional practice issues.

Please answer the following:

• Identify and explore two key leadership skills that Registered Nurses must bring to their role. Use evidence from the literature to support why these skills are important.

• Choose a particular service area (e.g. rehab. aged care, theatre, outpatient service) and describe key challenges that nurses face when utilising the medical record by outlining aspects of privacy and security.

• Define one of the following terms – role conflict OR role ambiguity. Discuss the impact that the chosen concept may have on a registered nurse (RN).
