Your Task

Students will develop a Framework (based on the themes below) as a group in-class activity which students will then use to develop a short presentation summary to be submitted individually via Moodle. The Group framework and the short presentation summary will then be used to create an in-class group presentation for Assessment 2 based on analysing an organisations Knowledge Management System.

Assessment Description

In Week 3/4/5 in-class groups (of 4 students) will be formed and the group will need to select an organisation that either has been discussed in class, an example case (there are many available online) or from some-where you work. Your role is that of a Consulting Firm and to make recommendations on changes that the organisation that the creation of a Knowledge Management Plan, aided by requisite technologies, which can assist in improving their management of data, information and knowledge. You can use any of the knowledge management models or frameworks discussed in class (and reference these appropriately) to structure your framework.

You should use a “mind-mapping technique” or other interactive tools and technologies (this assessment can be created solely using technologies) to help you manage your ideas and information and may wish to consider some of the following themes:

• Issues or challenges or obstacles currently facing the organisation in managing and capturing knowledge

• Current knowledge management systems

• Data capture, use and management

As part of the group in-class activities, you will develop a group framework to assist you and prepare a short presentation summary to assist you in developing your presentation.
