Identifying lessons learnt would enable a meaningful lessons learnt process and address common issues experienced with lessons learnt in projects.The lessons identified demonstrated deep reflection about the learning process.SMART process improvement strategies were identified. (SMART - Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bounded).

Learning the necessary requirement for a project What will be done and by who? What is the possibility of the project being a success Possibility of the project prospecting (Analytical, 2014). Reviewing previous projects evaluating whether they were a success of a failure.  Recording the taught lessons (Bryne et.al, 2014) Categorization of the data for different projects taught. i.e. Engineering, IT, Human resource project and other projects     

Recording the key points taught that a project goes through Grouping the project information into specific categories according to their main attributes Communicating with the project team on whether there are changes in the laid process Encouraging use of the recorded data at the start of the project
