As given for the knowledge that we are working in a major organization at a post of IS/ICT specialist it’s the duty of us to carry our team to digitalization. As the head, I would implement many new strategies for the better development of the company’s IT department. As per the plan, the company has decided to invest a little less in IT sector and try to bring a quick development in market solutions.

As referred by Paul C. Dinsmore, the major concerns of the company are related to the old technology, lack of mobility of technology, and recent hype in the internet world. These are the major problems as discussed by the manager of the organization.

To develop the organization’s status there is a need of developing better solutions than the pre-existing ones that can cover the drawbacks of the existing problems. As we flash light upon the problem of old technology, we can the knowledge that the major investment of the organization is being wasted on ERP solutions which is not worth it. Most companies use the latest updated version of this software to manage the working of the companies’ task. These help them to manage and work efficient the integrated applications and take automated decisions for the company. It comes under the tag of enterprise software as it is mainly used by enterprises or such companies. There are various kinds of ERP’s available in the market, each different from one another. Each individual has to choose the ERP suiting his/her requirements and needs. Each ERP focuses on a specific business process. For a huge company who want to avail the ERP that would enable its employees and the company the best results is not quite easy. The trends that can affect the ERP software of an enterprise are listed below:

  1. An ERP should be such that it is easy and yet information sufficient to be used regardless the fact what sort of data is supplied through it. The company will embrace the mobile ERP for such surveys, dashboards and report handling processes as it would make the workload quite easy.
  2. Another trend would be support of cloud storage for confidential data. But from my concerns, social interactive options will help the software to get a wider range of market.
  4. The companies make use of two-tier ERP to facilitate the function of managing the programs differently instead of burdening of all programs to be handled by a single ERP. This let the distribution and proper hierarchy of work.

Stated by Colrain M., the solution seems to be easy for the administration of improving the old tech of ERP’s but has many small factors attached to it that needs to be taken care of before the implication of the decision. The ERP needs to be improved on a new platform. The ERP must be developed by keeping all the above discussed trends in mind and should be made exclusively on the requirement on the organization. Once made, it should be regularly updated so that it is made spoof proof from any hack.

Customer Journey plays a very important role in deciding the requirements of the company from the ERP. Customer journey gives the feedback of the steps that engages customer before direct interaction with the company. Company must update the user experience for that. This will help to gain more customers if they are able to satisfy their experience. The company needs to develop strategies regarding the smooth functioning of this process and also to develop friendly environment that will enable the company to get the desired results. The strategies that can be used by companies to improve the customer journey can comprise of understanding the behavior of customer for their product and to their various products. They will try to offer various offers each steps and discounts on the final product before reaching the destination so that they will advertise the company. This will indirectly benefit the company.
