As a part of this analysis, consider the potential advantages and disadvantages of using robotic including various risks for the organisation and with respect to robotic technologies. As the ICT Manager of your organisation, you should focus on security and technology aspects as a priority, and propose potential solutions to overcome any disadvantages/risks identified in your analysis. Additionally, explore the ethical, social and legal considerations that your organisation should consider as a part of the proposed strategy, and discuss some solutions to overcome these issues.

Your analysis and proposed solutions in task 2 should lead to some recommendations at the end of your report. Make sure that the specific recommendations at the end of your report have been evaluated as a part of your report discussion.

Veracity is an Information technology company which designs and acts as a consultant of any business solutions. This company is known to produce the world-class IT solutions and technical support through managing the cloud-based it platforms. Veracity Company targets customers from different regions of Brisbane and the entire country. The company has a large market share due to the high quality of work attracting both new and existing customers. Although the company has robots which assist them to produce high quality of work and accuracy, it still needs to acquire more robots to ensure it maintains the market power and gains acompetitive advantage over the substitute’s company. The report about using robotic technology in Veracity Company will be analyzed to meet the company needs. This report is divided into three parts in different sections including introduction, literature reviews, conclusion and recommendations.

In the modern world, today Robots are widely used to reduce the repetitive task.Robots have ventured in different industries and completely changed the human workforce. Robots are well known for their processing speed when producing goods and services in the industries and trying to eradicate the low production rate on a variety of products. Robotic technology is generally a branch of Artificial intelligence and using the mechanical structure to operate automatically or through the assistance of remotes (Nocks, 2007). The use of robots has a wide geographical coverage as the majority of companies all over the world are using robotic technology to reduce workload and increase productivity.

1.3Problem statement

The organizations today are challenged by increased labor costs and a shortage of experienced and professional workers thus strategizing to invest on robotics (Bessen, 2015). Competition has been one of contributing factors for companies to lose market power and reduce profits (Tuza, 2010). Companies had laid strategies on how they can increase productivity and ensure that Goods and services produced had a good reputation to attract more customers and retain the existing customers. Despite company hiring professional employees to improve their productivity and quality of goods and services, there is still low production, low quality and inaccurate of the Goods produced. This problem has led to company opted for better strategies to retain the quality of productions, improve their profits margin and enable high standards of goods in the market.

The company opted to utilize the existing Robots to generate the required standards of goods and widen markets. The existing robots that were previously used in the company lack the latest technology and the capabilities used to slow down the production yields. To curb this problem of existing Robots not able to produce the desired outcome, the company has come up with strategies on how to further increase the productivity and come up with the solution of adding more modern Robots with latest features and which can handle large sum of workload effectively and increase the productivity rate of the market.

Robots were created in 1950 by George Devol. Robots were further implemented in 1962 and completed the dangerous tasks to be handled by a human being and repetitive tasks at General Motors (Bogue, 2013). The robotic technology evolved over years as technologies change enhancing more robots from different fields being implemented.

2.1.2 Types of robots used in different industries

There are different types of robots in various industries categorized by their functionalities (Wilson, 2015). Robots exist in different types including articulated, Cartesian, cylindrical, polar, scalar and delta.

In our modern world today, robots have a variety of usage of different industries (Echaore-McDvid, 2006). This usage is structured differently depending on functionality and capabilities. In other applications robots are used in painting, drilling, cutting, refueling, coating, clean room, thermal spray and many others.

The robots have increased the productivity in industries through the provision of accurate and high quality of work (Angeleles, 2014). They are more precise to mistakes as compared to human thus making them produce quantity outcomes in the shortest time by working at a high speed (Low, 2007). Companies using robots have this as a competition advantages as more products are produced and conquer a greater figure in market shares .

Safety is enhanced as robots can handle dangerous tasks saving the workers (Jefferies, 2008). Robots can work in hazardous conditions like handling toxic chemicals and capable of lifting the heavy loads with no tiring. Companies using robots have a safety measure as accidents caused through operation of risky jobs are reduced.

Robots are well known to save time through the production of the greater magnitude of products. Companies using robots have increased their profit margin as the time taken by a human is reduced through incorporations with robots industries.

Loss of jobs had been experienced ever since the Robot companies ventures into many industries. Robots have eliminated middle-class jobs as they replace the work done by humans (Tarn, 2011). Robots can never improve the results as required since they are not intelligent and may lack some functionality (Kuttan, 2007).

In today’s world enterprises are looking for ways to reduce risk by deploying video surveillance systems or video analytical system that tracks down the threats and risk encountered in industries before becoming real emergencies (Acemoglu & Respo, 2016). Companies using the robots as their way of security have minimal exposure to security threats. The new technology has solved problems of insecurity as well as proving safety on dangerous jobs. This technology has reduced liability and increased the return on investment rates.

Robots are still evolving as technology changes every day (Eaton, 2015). Programmers are designing the modern Robots and in future is highly expected that robots will be effective as the challenges are addressed every day. The programmers will still look for more ways in which robots will reduce the accidents in the industries.

3.1Methods of data collections

Both primary and secondary data forms were used to ensure reliabilities of data. In primary data sources, the survey method were used consisting of selected populations size and questionnaires were administered to the target respondents.The data was later on analyzed.

3.1.1 Survey

The surveyis a technique used to gather information based on a certain segment of a product of technology. The survey is done on the basis of selecting the few important questions which generate the valuable information. The survey is divided into questionnaires and interviews. The use of survey method helps in determining the views of people on technology and how the technology has ventured in the market. People are able to express their ideas on how the technology should be improved to meet their needs. The survey provides the feedback to the company and company strategized on the way to improve a certain commodity in the market. A survey assesses the external environment such as economics and competitions as it brings on the board the feedback about the new technology capabilities and generates ways on their mprovement of the technology. The study used a survey method to collect information from different manufacturers and companies’ using the robotic technology. The questionnaires were structured effectively; they were fully administered for accuracy purpose, and maintain equal opportunity of participation by the respondents.

3.1.2 Secondary Data

The report was established using secondary data sources such as journals, publicwebsites,newspapers,magazines,books from robotics topics,web portals and brochures.The information collected this source was analyzed and integrated enabling the conclusion.

3.1 Data analysis

The data collected from the field using survey method was sorted for completeness and summarized in tables. The process of data analysis involved several stages. Completed questionnaire was edited for completeness and consistency. The data was then coded and checked for any errors and omissions. The data obtained from the study was coded and entered into the computer and subsequently passed to statistical analysis using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The study used Statistical Package for Social Sciences Version 21.0 to aid in data analysis

3.2findings

In the future,theincrease of robots will become obvious and robots will play a virtue role trying to assist industries in their daily task thus assisting them toincrease the profit margin. The majority of companies are shifting to the robotic technology world. Robots have led to declining of workload. The companies which use the robotic technology have a high production rate compared to companies depending on human labor (Zhang, 2016). The robotic technology has a high influence of quality, quantity and it’s cost effective. The robots have reduced the number of employees by significant figures (Hunt, 2013). This has widened the profit margin as the salaries which were administered to various employees are reduced as robots can handle the same task in a short period of time. The analysis of this report found that robotics was accountable for both positive and negative impacts on the employment status.

3.2 Proposed solutions

The company opted to purchase more Robots to increase the productivity rate of the production. Technology advances everyday and Robots with more added functionality and design to handle a huge workload are developed (Angelo, 2006). The problem of inaccuracy, low quality and commodities failing to attain the required standards will be eradicated as the new solution to this problem are addressed through acquiring new Robots with latest security features and functionality. These robots will motivate the company rate of production and reduce workload. In an example, a company can be sued by causing harm to employees if the harmful actions were against policies of the company. The company accepted the risk before employing the staffs and accepted the risk encountered. Robots have solved this kind of .risky by deploying the robots which can work in such harmful conditions

3.4 Conclusion

Robotics develops a device that reduces repetitive tasks which can be handled by a human being. Robotics can be moved either by use of remote or automatically (Gupta, 2009). In the modernworld, each industry is using robotics technology to increase work accuracy, cost cut and be more productive. The main goal of the robotic technology is to capture more targets in the market through broadening the usage of the robots in various fields. The technology should be friendly to users and used country wide to stabilize the economy in most of the countries.

Robots are developed with the ultimate goal of performing multifarious activities for a human being . (Poole, 2012). Robots provide wide solutions to why the companies are increasing the profits and others are diminishing their profits in the market. The companies using robots have been able to have competition advantage as compared to those companies don’t utilize robots (Frey, 2013).

Robots work in a planned and integrated way to ensure that quality and productivity is enhanced. Despite the challenges faced by companies using robotic technology, robots will set a new era in the future years though maintaining that tasks are done easier and smoother and more safety measure are provided to reduce the accident caused by robots (Brock, 2009). Experts and well-trained staffs are accredited to use the robots to reduce the risks and errors which might put a company at risk of financial losses or violation of Government policies (Frey, 2013). The board governing the design, construction, and implementation of robots should ensure that robots are well programmed and all specifications attained before they venture into the market. The robots should pass through prototyping phase to ensure that they are effective and efficient for use by their customers.

In the near future, there are expectations that most of the industries will replace the human workers with robots technology (Paul, 2008). The switch will impact on economic sense as it reduces the number of employees and increases the production rate. The company should check the security measures of robots depending on the type of tasks that are exposed to employees. The company should be in a position to hire programmers to be maintaining their robots. This reduces the risk of robot breakdown during the dangerous task.

Robotic technology should be considered as mechanical programmable devices and they should be well monitored and checked daily before handling various jobs to reduce both human and company risks (Deb, 2010). The companies should put in consideration the human being status of living and also allocate them various tasks to reduce the unemployment rate in society. Robots had been one of the contributing factors to increasing the rate of unemployment in the society (Frontoni, 2012). Programmers are well benefiting from this business as they earn a lot of income from robots but on the other side, they are diminishing employment for people who work in the company.

In cases where there is more need to use intelligence and there is no repetitive task, human labor should be used. Robots cannot be integrated to change the functionalities as they are programmed to perform a certain build-in-tasks (Mohammad, 2015). The jobs which require critical thinking are considerate to be handled by human being and robots should not be used in those jobs (Ajoudani, 2016)

The government should regulate the policies concerning the robots through measuring their impacts on economy and generation of revenues to the country . The government should also reduce taxes on robots to allow more companies acquire them and become relative cheap.

There should be collaboration between Government and service sectors to enable fast growth of the economic stability by providing industries with unaffordablerobots.
