Submission

The lab report can only be submitted via lab report assignment dropbox on the HPS121 CloudDeakin site by the due date and time. It must be submitted as either a pdf or word doc file. Also ensure you submit the correct and final version. We will only mark the version of the assignment submitted to the dropbox. As per Faculty of Health policy, a marking penalty will be applied where the assessment task is submitted after the due date without an approved extension. This penalty is: 5% will be deducted from available marks for each day up to five days where work is submitted more than five days after the due date, the task will not be marked and the student will receive 0% for the task. 'Day' means calendar day for electronic submissions.

Pointers:-

§ Be sure that you understand clearly the task set down in the report topic. Try to define a particular focus for your report and ensure that you remain in focus.

§ Do not use direct quotations (that is, always try to express points in your own words).

§ Ensure that you highlight the relevance of your points (that is, you should clearly indicate how each point relates to the topic).

§ Check what you have written. The importance of checking your work before submission cannot be over emphasised. You should never submit a piece of work without having read over it at least once. The best procedure is to get someone else to read your assignment (it should be someone not doing this unit), and ask them to tell you if there are any sections they do not understand. If you cannot find someone willing to read your report, then read it out aloud to yourself. You will be surprised how many errors you can find using this technique.

§Making the effort to check your work before you submit it can make a large difference in the grade that your work receives. Don’t let your marker be the first reader!

§ Back up your work – computer mishaps will not be accepted as grounds for an extension for this assessment.
