Essay critique 

In completing this critique assessment you will have the opportunity to view and critically assess a published journal article. This aims to develop the skills to assess the quality and suitability of the published literature. As technology develops and becomes more readily available to the public it is imperative that you understand the evidence and efficacy of diabetes technologies for self-management. A common and easily accessible form of diabetes self-management technology are mobile apps. To date there are a number of apps developed with supporting evidence from randomized controlled trials, however, few studies have explored how these tools may be used with clients from a cultural and linguistically diverse (CALD) background. The assessment requires you to critically assess a qualitative study to explore how the features of mobile app might better support GPs to engage with CALD clients.

1. Critically assess the qualitative study by Ayre et al (2019). Your answer should include your views on the study with a detailed critique of key study features i.e. recruitment, sample, research methodology, etc. There are published frameworks that provide guidance and questions to develop your critique, and one is provided further in this paper (Ingham-Broomfield, 2008). 

2. What recommendations would you make on the use of mobile technology to support diabetes management in clients from a CALD background.
