Research question

This integrated systematic review aims to identify the prevalence of type 2 diabetes among Africans migrants in Australia and the primary determinants (including culture) on the risk of developing type 2 diabetes

Research objective

To determine the prevalence of T2D among Africans migrants in Australia

To explore the major factors that increase likelihood of the African migrants in Australia getting affected by the metabolic disorder

To assess the role of culture in predisposing among Africans to T2DM

The goal is to improve the understanding of the culture variation in diabetes beliefs and risk associated with the disease.

The understanding of complex belief systems individuals hold about health and disease is essential for creating and implementing culturally-appropriate interventions, prevention and also treatments.

Lifestyle is a major cause of T2DM, does a certain population’s lifestyle cause them at risk of T2DM
