Task:

Objectives

This assessment task relates to course learning outcomes numbers 3, 4 and 5.

1. Critically assess the factors that influence business environment

2. Evaluate the complex role of globalisation

3. Analyse the roles of ethics and social responsibility in the business environment.

Purpose

The purpose of this assessment item is to assess your ability to write a Academic Essay that demonstrates your critical thinking and communication skills.  You are required to critically analyse the following statement:

“Digital entrepreneurs are proactively seizing global business opportunities arising from technology innovations”.

In developing your argument, which was what an essay requires you to do, please ensure that you incorporate critical insights from at least six peer reviewed scholarly journals. This evidence-based research will enable you to support your argument, demonstrating your application of critical thinking to incorporate opposing perspectives, and culminating in a compelling conclusion. Please fully review the rubric for this assessment before starting your Assessment.

A note on writing essays:

Demonstrate your communication skills by using the third person passive writing style.  

Do not use diagrams/pictures in an Academic Essay.  This will give you an opportunity to demonstrate your communication writing skills.

Assessment task 2 – Marking Criteria for Academic Essay 

Your submission will be assessed on the extent to which it meets each of the following criteria:

1. Evidence of student critical thinking of the personal attitudes, skills, and business structures appropriate to leveraging technology innovations.

2. Identification and discussion of whether the digital entrepreneurship trend meets any of the United Nation’s sustainable development goals.

3. Identification and discussion of issues to be considered in globalisation.
