Assessment is mapped to the unit and must be completed by the end of each unit and the students are required to have adequate practice prior to undertaking this assessment. The assessment consists of four tasks Assessment Task 1, 2, 3 and 4. Assessment task 1 is written questions and answers; Assessment Task 2 is project report; Assessment task 3 is project presentation; and Assessment task 4 is a written test.
For answers to written questions, reports and projects, you must:
1. Print clearly in black or blue pen or type it as a word document
2. Answer each of the key points and /or follow instructions
3. Assessments written in pencil or are illegible will not be accepted.
Ask your assessor if you do not understand any part of the assessment. Whist your assessor cannot tell you the answer, he/she may be able to re-word a question or instruction to assist in a better understanding for you.
Formative Assessment Task 1:
For Formative Assessment Task 1, students are required to read given case study on ‘3 Strategies for Developing Innovative Thinking’, and answer the questions given below in relevance to the article. This assessment has to be completed during your session period. Please check with your Trainer and Assessor for due date of submission.
Formative Assessment Task 2:
For this task, students have to refer to the simulated business case study ‘Sim’s Hardware’. Sim’s Hardware is an old Australian business dealing with supply of hardware. With time, business’s technology, operations and practices have become obsolete leading to fall in the revenues. For this reason, management has decided to hire an external innovation and development consult to review the business and make suggestions for leading innovative thinking and practice in the organisation.
Student has to assume himself as the appointed Innovation and Development consultant and write a report. The report has to be written in a professional format with no less than 2000 words. There is no specific format for the report, however, student must discuss the points given in the assessment.
Formative Assessment Task 3:
In continuation of task 2, for assessment task 3, student has to assume himself as the appointed Innovation and Development consultant and deliver a presentation about his review of the organisation and suggestions to the management. There is no specific format of the presentation, however, student must discuss the points provided in the assessment.
