Task

Case studies assess students’ understanding of concepts presented in weekly lectures and tutorials by researching and analysing real life situations. This is a group assignment.

In this assignment, groups of 4 students are required to identify a recent Enterprise Systems implementation in an organisation and write a 2,500 to 2,800-word report and deliver a 15-minute PowerPoint presentation on the following issues depicted in the chosen case study. Email your choices to the Lecturer for approval.

1. Describe the organisation and explain the business problem or opportunity it faced.

2. Describe the type of the Enterprise Systems that the organisation used and the business process by which was selected and implemented.

3. Explain and analyse any challenges the organisation may have faced in adopting the system.

4. Provide an assessment of how change management might impact the performance of Enterprise Systems.

Learning Outcomes

1.Show an understanding of  the basic principles and issues  associated with enterprise systems. 

2.Explain and describe the  scope of common enterprise systems (e.g. supply chain, HRM, procurement, etc.)

3.Identify and critically assess the challenges associated with implementing enterprise systems and their impact on business.

4.Demonstrate an understanding of the enterprise system development life cycle, from selection, acquisition, implementation, and maintenance.

5.Identify the factors that contribute to an organisation’s readiness to implement enterprise systems and how obstacles might be overcome.
