The leaders take charge of an organisation and they delegate the responsibility to the other team members for achieving best results. The leaders help in providing team members with goals that can help in ensuring success of an organisation. Management refers to process of the planning and the organisation of the resources for achieving the specific goals in the effective manner. The efficiency in the management process needs the completion of tasks in the correct manner and it takes place at the minimal costs. The management is indicative of dynamic function which adapts itself to the changes in the environment and it assists in efficient development of an organisation. This report discusses about leadership and the management and the importance of team development within an organisation. This report elaborates on leadership ability and the managerial skills that are of great significance in the present times.

Leadership refers to the process with the aid of which an individual can influence other people for the accomplishing of objective within an organisation. It can help in providing direction to an organisation that can help it to make it cohesive and the coherent. The individuals want to be guided by the leaders whom they respect and they help to provide clear sense of the direction to the team (Rudolph, Murphy & Zacher, 2020).  The successful companies possess the leaders who have been instrumental in setting high standards and goals within the entire spectrum of an organisation. The values help to reflect concern that the organisations have towards employees, customers, vendors and the investors. The goals, concepts and the values helps in making up personality of an organisation and it can help to understand how an organisation is being observed by outsiders and the insiders. The relationships can be determined by tasks of the role and there exist certain tasks which can be performed alone whereas there are others that has to be carried out in relationship with the other people (Leithwood, Harris & Hopkins, 2020). In my opinion, the leaders help in performing different roles like planning, implementing, evaluating, monitoring, management of conflicts, organisation of the task groups and mobilisation of human and the financial resources. The leadership can be said to be necessary for the efficiency and it can help an organisation to go ahead in the forward direction. The primary task of the manager is for securing productive performance with the aid of planning, direction and the control (Oc, 2018).

 I think that management can help to guide human and the physical resources into dynamic organisation that can help it to attain its objectives. It can help in providing satisfaction to individuals who are being served and it can help to ensure sense of attainment of the individuals within the broader society. In my view, organisation is an integral part of the management and it can aid in the establishment of intentional structure of the roles for the people within the organisation. I think that management refers to conduct of the affairs of a business and it can move towards the objective with the help of continuous process of the improvement and the optimisation of the resources. The management can be conceived to be comprehensive generic function which covers various aspects like planning, organising and directing. In my view, the managers provide motivation and direction to the subordinates and they are responsible for effective functioning of an organisation. I think that the managers act as the liaison officer in between the top management and subordinate staff. The management has evolved to become a powerful force and society is dependent for the material support from the unrecognised situation within last one or the two centuries.

The “high-performance work team” is indicative of group of the goal-focussed individuals who have specialised expertise and the complementary skills for the purpose of collaboration and innovation. The workplace teams form backbone of the contemporary work life and the high-performance work teams are essential for the organisation of a company. The high performance teams requires deep sense of the purpose and the commitment that can help an organisation to achieve their overall goals (Al Khajeh, 2018).  I think that the high performance work teams possess advantage over work of the individuals as each member can help in offering new ideas and the talent.

The high performance work teams can help in execution of strategy and meeting the goals as they feel empowered and they are responsible for the functional activity. The compensation and the incentives can be stated to be tied to achievement of team and the individual goals and it can create the way for collective team performance (Hartley, 2018).  In my opinion, usage of the teams has been found to increase in the dramatic manner owing to response to the competitive challenges and the technological changes. The team structures can help in facilitating multiple skills, judgements and the experiences which can be appropriate for the projects needing diverse expertise and the problem-solving skills. The teams can aid in the execution of things in the clear manner and it can help in making the better decisions and for solving the complex problems.

The leaders should be imbibed with the intelligence which cam imbue within them the mental capacity for the understanding and reasoning of the individuals. The leaders having the self-confidence need to have the realistic certainties in regard to their own judgement and the ideas (Eva et al., 2019).  The leaders need to have the positive attitude regarding themselves that can enable them to go ahead in the forward direction. The effective leaders need to have the self-assurance and the self-esteem which can help them to create a difference in the modern day organisations (Gardner et al., 2020).  The leaders need to have the determination that can enable them for arriving at the decision which includes various characteristics like energy, persistence and the initiative. The leaders having determination should have the persistence which is needed for seeing job through to the completion and for persevering in face of the obstacles.

The leaders need to possess personal integrity that can enable them to adhere to the personal values in their daily behaviour. The integrity can be stated to be foundational in the relationships existing in between the public health leaders and the followers. The leaders failing to maintain confidence of the followers would fail to lead the subordinates in the long run. I think that the leaders should have the technical skills and they should possess knowledge about work and structure of an organisation. The technical skills can be acquired with the help of various means and it includes formal education and the on-the-job training. The leaders should possess interpersonal or the human skills that can help them to carry out effective communication with the people. The crucial component of interpersonal skill set is the empathy and it is indicative of capacity for understanding motives and the values of the individuals. I think that the leaders need to have social insight that can help in determining whether the behaviours would be acceptable in the particular situations.

They should have the ability of selecting the appropriate influence strategy as the leader which can be said to be dependent on what the followers are wanting and how the followers would perceive the particular situation. The leaders have to monitor so that they can understand their behaviour and it can leave an influence on the followers. In my opinion, the leaders have to adjust the behaviour so that they are able to match the specific situations. I think that effective leadership has to be on the basis of interpersonal competence and leaders having strong interpersonal skills have to enhance the group co-operation for supporting and pursuing the common goals. The leaders need to possess real skill that can enable them to work with other people and it has to involve sensitivity during times of the decision-making and also within day-to-day behaviour of individual.

The leaders need to have effect on the associates alongside with their true self will. In my view, conceptual skills needs to incorporate various kinds of attributes which includes judgement, intuition and the creativity. The leaders should have the ability of effective strategic planning which is the main responsibility and it can be instrumental in shaping future of an organisation. They have to understand how the different parts of the organisation have to work together and how change within one area can affect elements in the other areas. The intuition need to play a significant role and it helps in developing repertoire of the leader with the help of experience having certain kinds of the problems. The leaders have to be imbibed with the personality which is indicative of set of the processes and the characteristics which can aid in the reflection of stable behaviour approach.

The managerial skills are indicative of attributes or the abilities which have to be possessed by executive for the fulfilment of specific tasks within the organisational setting. It can include capacity for performing the executive duties within the organisational setting and it can aid to solve the crisis situations and solve the problems (Schermerhorn Jr, Bachrach & Wright, 2020).  The skills of the managers can be developed with the aid of learning and skills should be able to offer assistance to the fellow co-workers which can enable them to deal with the subordinates. In my opinion, the managers need to have conceptual skills and managers have to present themselves in regard to knowledge and the ability for the abstract thinking and the formulation of ideas. The managers need to have ability for perceiving of entire concept and analysis of problem for finding out the creative solutions. It can be of great value for the managers that can help them to understand the obstacles which department or business has to face (Harris & Jones, 2018).  The management need to have human or the interpersonal skills that can be of great value for the understanding of human potential within the company and it can provide motivation to the employees for the better results.

I was studying the Master of marketing course in University of Auckland and we were asked to form a team in regard to the topic, “Customer preference and the satisfaction level towards the expectation in regard to Toyota”. The group was formed for the successful completion of the project that can ensure the effective conclusion of the course. I was endowed with the responsibility to handle the big team and I had to co-ordinate and communicate important elements within the team. The members in the group were arranged and the topic was split in between the various team members so that they can find crucial information about the topic (Bush, Bell & Middlewood, 2019). I provided them with the direction being the team leader so that they can handle how to write the various parts of the project. I listened to their individual concerns that helped in the arena of accommodation of the various ideas of the team members. There was a particular member of the team who did not want to co-operate and I had to be patient so that I can make him get involved in the project. I helped him to understand the importance of planning that ensured the effective completion of the project. I was able to provide support to him that empowered him with the ability regarding how to carry out work within the team. It can help in the creation of high performance work team that helped in the effective completion of the project.

I shall apply the leadership ability in the position of marketing manager by making use of my intelligence that can help me to market the products to the customer. The effective leaders should have self-esteem and it can help them to understand the opinion of members of the team. The decisiveness would be employed by me in the position of the marketing manager that can help me to make the effective decisions (Castillo & Hallinger, 2018).  It can act as a valuable leadership skill that can ensure the effective moving of projects which can be instrumental in improving my efficiency (Hallinger & Kovačević, 2021).  I shall exhibit integrity in the workplaces that can that can help me to make the ethical choices and it can aid in the maintenance of the positive image. I shall try to build the relationship in the position of the marketing manager by building and maintaining collaborative team of the individuals that can enable the team for working towards same goal.

It can help me in building the team and effective communication skills can be employed that can assist in the future growth of an organisation (Golensky & Hager, 2020).  The marketing roles needs the great level of the creativity and the innovation and it can help in driving the new ideas and providing empowerment to members of the team. It can help them to nurture members of the team that can help them to recognise skills and the knowledge of the employees (Rehman & Iqbal, 2020).  It can help team members for working at their best and it can endow them with the freedom for taking on their responsibility in regard to their own role and the projects. The transparency can act as key that can prove to be useful for gaining trust and the respect among the workers. I shall add the humility to my leadership style that can help to encourage learning culture in the organisation and it can be translated into the different departments (BellibaÅŸ & GümüÅŸ, 2019).

Conclusion

Leadership can influence the other individuals so that the objectives can be attained within the boundaries of the organisational setting. The workplace teams can help in forming backbone of work life and high-performance work teams can be essential for the successful running of a company. The high performance teams needs deep sense of purpose which can be valuable for an organisation for achieving the overall goals. The managers have to perceive entire concept and crucial analysis of the problem can be valuable for finding the creative solutions. It can be of great use for the managers that can understand obstacles which have to be faced by departments or the business. The effective leaders should possess self-esteem for the understanding of opinion of the team members.
