Introduction:

Eternity and immorality in the concept of philosophy are two different concepts. The assignment shed light on the different concepts of eternal life and also discuss immorality in the light of Taoism.

Discussion:

Different concepts of eternal life: There are two chief concept or perspectives of eternity (Kelemen, et al.). The first concept describe eternity as an everlasting realm that has no beginning, middle, or end and hence all of them coexist together in the present. The second concept describe eternity as inexhaustible time without moment of creation, but yet time as we know it, with persistence and progression from the previous era to the years ahead. Several ancient societies, from “Buddhists” and “Hindus” to the “Orphics” and “Pythagoreans” of Greek Culture, engaged in a continuous conception of space, known as the "wheel of time" or Kalachakra, and therefore there are recurring ages throughout the universe's endless life.

Immortality in Taoism: Immortality, also known as everlasting life, is a distinctly separate idea. Taoism is also recognized for its adherents' belief in everlasting paradise. Taoism strong believed in the concept of afterlife which is equivalent to the concept of immortality which still alive after encountering death (Petracca).

Conclusion:

From the above analysis it can be concluded that Taoism strong believes in the concept of afterlife however but adhere to the concept of eternal life.
