Answer:

Communication is a crucial element for achieving success in the business. Thus, it is important to choose appropriate communication tool, based on the type of the business. Business communication is needed in every field in the business. Thus, in the training schedules for employees, communication is a key area to be focused on and treated as a key skill in leaders as well as potential employees. Effective communication skills help to develop trustworthy and positive relationship among employees, customers, employers as well as the other stakeholders involved in the business. Thus, in this assignment, the learning from business communication project and its implication would be demonstrated.

Communication is a key tool in business expansion too. It is because, out of the domestic market the business environment and culture is different and the employer, who is expanding the business into a new market should understand those norms and regulations; which can be achieved through effective communication. However, this type of communication among two different cultural contexts is known as cross-cultural communication. This cross-cultural communication determines how successful the business would be in a foreign market.

In the previous two assessment, the business communication have been demonstrated based on an interview session with the partner of an Australian company, which mainly sales Asian grocery for the people, who are Indians, but living in Australia. From the interview, several things were revealed, which demonstrated how determination and cross cultural communication helped in promoting the business objectives, to achieve the expected outcomes.

Undergoing the business communication projects, the importance of studying business communication has been revealed. How members of a company communicate with each other can add to or alleviate conflict and misunderstandings or success of the business. In the context of business, communication is not only talking with each other; rather, it is beyond that, i.e. it acts as the open door towards other businesses, for increasing its profit and globalization.

As the globalization is evolving progressively, the business communication should progress proportionally. It has been claimed that lack of effective business communication can be costly in the business. In this context, it has been revealed from studying the business communication that it plays several important roles in direct or indirect way, either managing people within the organization or managing the business outside the organization. Although oral communication can be understood in a subjective manner, not always strong enough n its meaning; thus, understanding the taboo phrases and non-verbal indications is important to avoid misunderstanding and misconduct in business.

It has also been revealed from the studies that written communication does not always reflect the tone of the one penning the communication. It has also been revealed that most of the verbal communication is recorded for future references. Regarding the forms of business communication, it has been revealed from the studies that the business communication has usually two forms, i.e. written and oral. The oral communication is mainly done within the employees and in the internal organizational environment; whereas, in contrast, the written communication is usually used for external organizational communication.

Moreover, studies have also taught the importance of non-verbal communication in business communication. The non-verbal communication promotes observation of non-verbal signs, like posture, tone of voice, eye contact, facial expression and similar signs. In this context, it has also been learned that in case of cross-cultural communication, non-verbal skills play significant role in relationship building, it is because in different business environment, the cultural norms are different, which are usually represented by the non-verbal signs during communication and the employer or the business person should have effective non-verbal communication skills to address those signs, to understand the meaning of communication.

The business communication studies are effective for several reasons. For instance, the business communications studies helped to understand customer relationship building. In business, it is crucial to build positive relationship with customers, to make them loyal to the company. Through effective communication, customers gain access to represent their demands and complaints, based on which the products or services can be modified to make them more attractive to the customers. More communication with customers help them to gain more knowledge about the organization and products, thereby attracting more customers.

From the business communication studies, it has also been revealed that communication skills are crucial for leaders, which in turn help the leader to motivate their team members, by giving them instruction, encouraging them to be involved in planning project or encouraging staffs to accept change in policy or organizational infrastructure. As a result, a strong positive relationship is built within the employees and leader. The collaboration within team leader and team members is crucial for the success of a group project. Effective communication within a company involves listening and responding to your employees’ ideas and needs. However, in case of group project, it has been revealed that business communication is hindered sometimes, if the members are non-responsive and non-collaborative. These kinds of consequences lead to reduced productivity of the team and indicate a gap in communication skills among the team members or the leader.

During the study experience, while interviewing Mr. Patel, it has been revealed that communication also plays a significant role in strengthening partnerships in business. One partner would be able to avert many problems by clearly outlining the needs and expectations while entering in a relationship with another business professional as a business partner. The partnership with suppliers, outsourced providers and other business contacts also need strong business communication skills for understanding and making them understand their needs.

In this context, Mr. Patel revealed that technology has helped him to evolve his business towards progress; however, this technology adoption is significantly related to business communication; i,e. how well the technology is communicated with the business stakeholders, is a significant factor that determines the acceptance and efficacy of that technology in the business context. Another article from the business communication study also revealed the importance of business communication in making a business sustainable. It has also been revealed that in business like Patel’s, cross cultural communication is a key tool.

Cross cultural communication is a key to foreign business. For this employees may need a thorough training, for making them familiar with the new business norms and regulations in the foreign business market. In addition to that ethics is a key to business success, which is also promoted and maintained through appropriate communication within as well as in the external environment of the organization. In this context, several barriers are experienced, in the context of cross cultural communication; one of which is the non-compliance with the foreign norms and regulations, which may reduce the progress and sustainability of the business in a foreign market. To mitigate this issue, a thorough training and promotional sessions should be provided, which would help employees to understand the need for complying with the norms and communicate any kinds of issues with the human resource management team, in order to seek help.

Therefore, in this group project, the importance and benefits of business communication studies have been demonstrated, aligning with the previous assessments done in the context of business communication. Finally, it can be said that these learning would help the learners to apply in business practices in future, thereby shaping their skills for being efficient and appropriate business communicators.
